Disrupting the structure of waste paint; These are chemicals that enable the coagulation (decay of the solid), the release of the adsorbed water, and the separation of paint and water from each other.
When coagulants are added to water, they destabilize colloidal particles in various ways and facilitate their growth by coming together. The larger particles become more easily settled or floated. The chemicals used in this treatment process are called coagulants.
Destabilization of colloids can be accomplished in the following 4 ways:

  1. Compressing the double layer
  2. Adsorption and charge neutralization
  3. entrapment in precipitate
  4. Bridging between adsorption and particle

The choice of precipitation or flotation method should be made by considering the plant conditions and efficiency.
